The adverse results of excessive exposure to the sun include heavy premature wrinkles, sunburnt skin, and skin-related diseases later in life. Excessive exposure can occur through using the home swimming pool, working in the backyard, or even just lounging on a patio. These mundane and common activities can potentially lead to skin damage from too much sun light.

The traditional home awning is composed of a metal frame onto which a shade fabric is stretched for shading purposes. The metal frame may be fixed or retractable in some way. The position of the frame is either over a window or door, and occasionally can cover a front porch or patio. Fancier awnings at home may be remote controlled or automatically retractable in the event of rain.

I have loved the effects of outdoor lighting since I experienced a wonderful courtyard dinner in Mexico. I became charmed with the beauty of outdoor patio lights as we listening to a harpist and nibbled on the most outstanding cheese plate I had ever seen. We sat in the courtyard garden surrounded by outdoor art sculptures. It was the first time I had recognized the power effects of outdoor lighting and outdoor art. I was simply enchanted and have been so ever since. Since that night I admired outdoor lighting and outdoor art everywhere I go.
