A material that s more sturdy than wood is plastic. Like wood, plastic is widely available and comes in different forms and sizes. Very ideal for the curves of a rounded flower beds due to the plastic’s flexible characteristics. This material is also cheap, minus the yearly repair.

There is also the edging material of metal, these are favored by garden designers because of the authentic finish it brings, the only downside to this material is when rust starts to form. Then people tend to be turned off.

By far the most used and hard wearing are edging that are made from bricks, Stone or concrete. The price may be hefty but it is worth every penny. It is available in every shape and size making them great for ornamental or functional purposes.

To have the sense of border and space maintained in a garden just brings out the order and beauty of things. Landscaping edging is a process that any one can go with. It just takes a little imagination. It is very inexpensive and rewarding.
